Bluetooth Selfie Stick Highly-Extendable and Compact by Anker

This is a challenging review for me as I’ve never before used a selfie stick and I’m annoyed by people who poke you with them in museums trying to get a picture with themselves and a painting they don’t know much about.

Nevertheless I’ll try to make it as objective as possible.

So, as soon you open the well-known blue and white box from Anker, you’re in for a treat. The first thing that comes to mind is quality. The handle is made from a durable plastic with a mate finish. The extendable part is made from aluminium. It has about 18cm when retracted which makes it easy to carry in a bag, and can maybe fit in a larger pocket. It weights about 140 grams.

It looks rather small so my first thought was how much can it extend.

Again a nice surprise, the full extended length of the selfie stick is about 74cm. Now let’s see those people trying to dodge it in a crowded place! Not a chance.

But seriously now, try to be aware of your surroundings and don’t hit anybody with it.

Inside the box you can also find a micro USB cable for recharging the selfie stick and a guide on how to use it.

A long press on the selfie stick button will turn it on. On the phone you need to scan for bluetooth devices. It will come up on the list as “Anker selfie stick”. Click on it and that’s it, the device is ready to be used.

The phone fits very nicely into the bracket. I’ve tried an iPhone 6, an iPhone 4s and a Samsung Galaxy S4. The grip is really good with all of them and there is no chance for the phones to drop.

Once the phone is connected and fitted into the bracket, all you need to do is press the button on the selfie stick and take as much as 3000 selfies with one charge according to Anker.

The battery is supposed to last for 20 hours but don’t forget to turn the selfie stick off by long pressing its button if you won’t be using it for a while.

It will work with any iPhone or Android (the “Camera 360” app is required for some Android devices) but will not work with Windows phones.

If you want a durable selfie stick that’s easy to use and will last a long time this is a good candidate.
